Eyes begin to open and the baby responds to bright light.

How your body may feel

  • Bump is heavier and posture shifts backwards.
  • Trouble finding a comfortable sleep position.
  • More Braxton Hicks.

Self-care this week

  • Use pillows to support bump and knees at night.
  • Practise slow breathing before sleep.
  • Keep taking iron if prescribed.

Milestone

Anaemia and glucose bloods are often repeated around now.

Seek care urgently if you notice

  • Severe headache that will not clear, or blurred vision and flashing lights
  • Any vaginal bleeding, or fluid leaking from the vagina
  • Sudden swelling of the face, hands or feet
  • Burning or painful urination, or fever
  • Reduced or absent baby movement once a pattern is established
