Lungs are nearly mature and the baby practises breathing rhythmically.
How your body may feel
- • Frequent urination as baby drops.
- • Sharp pelvic twinges.
- • Tiredness and impatience are common.
Self-care this week
- • Rest often and accept help.
- • Know your route and contact numbers for labour.
- • Report reduced movement immediately, day or night.
Milestone
Group B strep screening may be offered 35–37 weeks.
Seek care urgently if you notice
- • Reduced, absent or changed baby movement — call immediately, day or night
- • Severe headache, blurred vision or pain under the ribs
- • Waters breaking before 37 weeks, or green or bloody fluid
- • Vaginal bleeding of any amount
- • Regular painful contractions before 37 weeks
- • Difficulty breathing, chest pain, or a seizure — call emergency services
