The baby can sense light through the closed eyelids and is moving freely.
How your body may feel
- • Nasal stuffiness and mild nosebleeds are common.
- • Leg cramps may begin at night.
- • Breasts continue to grow.
Self-care this week
- • Stretch your calves before bed for cramps.
- • Use a humidifier or saline drops for a stuffy nose.
- • Keep hydrated throughout the day.
Milestone
Some women feel first flutters from 16 weeks onward.
Seek care urgently if you notice
- • Severe headache that will not clear, or blurred vision and flashing lights
- • Any vaginal bleeding, or fluid leaking from the vagina
- • Sudden swelling of the face, hands or feet
- • Burning or painful urination, or fever
- • Reduced or absent baby movement once a pattern is established
