The brain is growing quickly and tiny hands and feet are starting to form.

How your body may feel

  • Increased saliva and a metallic taste can occur.
  • Breasts may feel fuller and veins more visible.
  • Constipation may begin.

Self-care this week

  • Add fibre — beans, fruit, whole grains — and drink water.
  • Try ginger tea or plain biscuits for nausea.
  • Gentle walking helps digestion and mood.

Milestone

Most organs have started to form.

Seek care urgently if you notice

  • Heavy bleeding, or bleeding with clots
  • Severe pain on one side of the lower abdomen or shoulder tip pain
  • Fever above 38°C
  • Vomiting so much you cannot keep fluids down for 24 hours
  • Fainting or severe dizziness
