The baby is now called a fetus. Vital organs are formed and will grow from here.
How your body may feel
- • Nausea may begin to ease for some.
- • Visible veins across the chest and legs.
- • Gums may bleed slightly when brushing.
Self-care this week
- • Use a soft toothbrush and keep up dental care.
- • Eat iron-rich foods with vitamin C to help absorption.
- • Ask about screening tests offered in your area.
Milestone
Early screening tests are usually offered between 10–14 weeks.
Seek care urgently if you notice
- • Heavy bleeding, or bleeding with clots
- • Severe pain on one side of the lower abdomen or shoulder tip pain
- • Fever above 38°C
- • Vomiting so much you cannot keep fluids down for 24 hours
- • Fainting or severe dizziness
