Trimester 1 · Baby is about a single egg, smaller than a grain of sand
An egg is maturing and your body is preparing to release it. Fertilisation usually happens at the end of this week.
How your body may feel
- • Cervical mucus becomes clear and stretchy.
- • A slight rise in energy and libido is common.
- • Some women feel a twinge on one side at ovulation.
Self-care this week
- • Keep taking folic acid daily.
- • Track cervical mucus or ovulation signs if you are trying.
- • Eat regularly and stay hydrated.
Milestone
Ovulation — the most fertile point of the cycle.
Seek care urgently if you notice
- • Heavy bleeding, or bleeding with clots
- • Severe pain on one side of the lower abdomen or shoulder tip pain
- • Fever above 38°C
- • Vomiting so much you cannot keep fluids down for 24 hours
- • Fainting or severe dizziness
